It took me a bit of searching, nadine, but from what I can tell that stove is a reproduction Model 250 stove made for those who want an exacting period kitchen. It hails from http://www.vintagestoves.com, though the link seems to be defunct at this time. If you came across one, you could p[air it with this: http://www.smeguk.com/Catalogue/Product/FAB28O6.aspx?Req=9494608

Toby, one similar to the stove you had is still made and is the top selling stove in Mexico and South America. It is also very inexpensive and made by the lightbulb people. NTB & Twistie, there are absolutely fabulous colors out now in appliances, check out Viking http://www.vikingrange.com/consumer/global/content.jsp?id=cat3170011 or TurboChef, or Wolf. Just remember the colors red, orange, and yellow stimulate the appetite (this is why McD's chose them for their stores)! Colors for appliances are in. I'm going to the Kitchen and Bath Show in Chicago in April and will let you know what I see....

Okay, I was feeling blah about monday, too, but that bright orange gas stove is making me smile.

(covets)

One day I will have a gas range again, and when I do it's going to look great. I usually don't like brightly colored large appliances, but that orange is just making my day.

NtB, let's go build a kitchen together. I can absolutely see those dishes and that stove in my dream kitchen. How do you feel about The Beatles? Because I've always wanted my kitchen to be based on Yellow Submarine.

oooo, I had a stove a bit like this when I was first married and renting. It had the griddle in the middle (you can lift off that cover and there is another burner underneath) that you could lift off and put another "ring" on the burner so that you could have 5 pots going on the stove at one time. I loved that stove -- if I'd had a chance, I'd have bought it from the landlord and taken it away. But I have to admit that mine was white..not tangerine.
