Armless is for the sitting completely upright and proper. Works really well if you want guests to sit and stay for very short times. Arms are necessary for the lounging, the cuddling, the reading, and the viewing of Project Runway (oh! and the cat!) If you get the fainting chaise, you must get the feathered, chiffon peignoir set with matching slippers and a long cigarette holder (Oh crap! I'm in the twenties not the 1880's) OK, get the tight laced corset, Mr. Twistie will love....

I once had to spend the night on an armless couch and ended up not sleeping a wink for fear that I'd fall off. I need arms(how else do you keep the throw pillows on the thing?).

I hate sitting in no arm upholstered chairs but will admit they look better. They are also a sure fire way to make sure people eventually leave!

Mr. Twistie wants to do up the living room in historically proper style some day. This, I firmly believe, is the perfect excuse for a lucious Victorian fainting couch, and I plan to refer to it as such despite the fact I've never fainted in my life.

Chaise longue FTW, baby!
