NtB WANTS: boldLOFT coffee mugs o’ love
By Christa TerryThis is where I get all squee-ish and say things like, “OMG teh cuteness!” The gist of it is this: I get one (the girl one, probably) and The Beard gets one (likely the boy one), and we drink coffee all day and think about each other. At least I gather that’s what is supposed to happen, based on boldLOFT‘s description.

More probable, however, is that we lose one half of the set, and he’s drinking out of the girl mug and I’m drinking out of the dollar store mug with “X for xylophone” on it. That’s all right by me!

Wait a second…that’s no so cute. The poor stick figure boy looks like he’s been shanghaied by his stick figure gal pal! She’s all, “La la la,” and he’s about to die!
Okay, this one’s a bit better, but the one below is the set I’d really like to get for us:
“Watch out, stick figure The Beard! Here comes…my loooooooooove!”
FYI: iVillage wants to give you a kitchen makeover! Each week, there’s a chance to win a variety of prizes (a dishwasher, cooktop, or under-counter wine cooler, for example) but the grand prize is a total kitchen renovation. To be eligible for both, all you have to do is register on the sweepstakes registration page, upload a picture of your current kitchen, and explain why you deserve to win. The deadline to enter is June 9, so get cracking!

Hmmmm…I may have to enter that contest. Anyone taking one look at my kitchen will know it needs help. Between the twenty-five-year-old vinyl floor tiles that are all stained and cracked and in desperate need of changing out, the completely inadequate lighting, the gross faux-wood panelling, and the truly fugly mismatched countertops (not to mention the scary stains in the sink and lack of dishwasher), I might just have a winner.
Then again, how much input do I get with the new design? I might just have to read the fine print very carefully. Still, new appliances? Something that makes the room look better, if not ideal? I probably should just go for it.

I’m definitely going to enter–I’ve been itching to call the guy who designed our cabinets (because he left a sticker advertising his services on one cabinet) just to bitch him out!

Thanks for the info on the kitchen makover. I rent, but in this market, I won’t be buying for some years, and I don’t want to have to suffer through a miserable kitchen just ’cause I don’t own it.
My fave mugs are the second and fourth set. That is how I love. I’m pretty honest about it, so I feel no shame. 🙂

Love the mugs! However, I agree, with a matched set like those, it is practically inevitable that you will lose one.

I don’t get it. How does something like that work?
