Apparently I am far shrewder than the wealthy because I have picked an apartment good for four seasons, saving myself the obligation of moving my stuff about just because it got hot.

Oh, La BellaDonna, you are one of my favorite not-visitors. You can not come by any time you don’t care to! There will always not be home-baked goodies and warm or cool drinks depending on the not season waiting for you when you don’t arrive.

That is a beautiful post.

I, myself, have a different system: I do not own a summer home, but I have cultivated friends in delightful spots all over the world. And I encourage the ones who live in dreary spots to apply for jobs in Dublin, Monte Carlo, Bali, etc. For the price of a hostess gift, you can stay anywhere!

A few years ago I saw a comedian doing a standup routine about the plight of rich people who aren’t rich enough. He referred to the ‘second-homeless’ and told the pitiful tale of the man who had to delve into his son’s trust fund to pay for his trophy wife’s ass-lift.

I think I shall spend some time today deciding how to decorate my non-existant summer home. Something tells me I shall be not putting a life-sized Uncle Fester without a lightbulb in his mouth in the not basement.
