Living Rooms, Five Ways

By Christa Terry

When you’re planning a room, the easiest way to figure out what you like is to overload your brain with pictures of fully realized furniture styles and layouts. I’ve found that Flickr is a great resource for those of us who are looking to change, update, or otherwise overhaul our bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and of course, living rooms. Below are five living rooms — well, sort of — that I hope will inspire.

That looks like one comfy couch

Photo by Reiner.Kraft — FYI: If you’re heading to the romantic Lahn River in Germany for your annual holiday, you can rent this two-bedroom apartment.

But is it comfortable?

Photo by Danilo Nunez, Jr. — this guy takes cool pics, so check him out.

Tropical!

Photo by Chad Jones — he apparently takes photos in CA, but this house looks like it belongs in CR.

Low light makes things look creepy

Photo by St_A_Sh — his house is pretty badass.

This one looks pretty comfy, actually

Photo by Spectacular Optical — I’d take a load off here, I think.

Guess my favorite and you will win my undying esteem, which isn’t quite as good as a real prize but will last a lot longer!

I like the second living room with that rockin sofa! I want that for my house!

  2. Jennie Says:

NtB, I see you in #3 and me in #4 (Lurve the face art!). That is unless the last one is overlooking the ocean with an interesting band in the background, a full service bar to the side, a gourmet restaurant to the right, and attentive cabana boys on demand, and a full service spa with massages by Nordic gods. “Oh sweet fantasy of life at last I found you!!!” (Words wrong, sentiment correct!)

You’re so right, Jennie. I loved the houses in CR when I lived there — I want to go back!
