Nature Under Glass

By Christa Terry

I’m not one for keeping plants or animals cooped up, but I’ve always adored very, very old framed nature studies. Even butterflies pinned under glass can capture my fancy if I’m sure that the poor little things would have been long since deceased.

John Derian

The John Derian for Target collection is a compromise between the new and the old. Besides vaguely vintage looking vases, trays, photo frames, and shadowboxes, there are gorgeous framed prints that are evocative of the antique botanical collections I love so much. The best part? Each one is a mere $25!

Edit: That was supposed to be three different prints, of course. I don’t know how I ended up with two poppies…

I may need to invest the cash in that tri-colored carrot print! It’s beyond awesome.

I got a tri-color carrot sampler in a produce delivery once. It looked a lot like the print, except replacing the lighter orange carrot with a deep purple one. Yum.

I like the rustic look of the three prints together – I would have to get all three. They would make a great addition to my kitchen wall!

    Love it!

Here’s another interesting decor site: StudioLX. Enjoy!
