Inspired By Escher
By Christa Terry
Making your own Escher-inspired patio is easy when you’re using tiles from Gecko Stone. Here’s a super sweet lizard tessellation in the courtyard and entrance of the Tjapukai Theatre.

If you’re using tile, you can always use the Sunshine City floor in Tokyo as your starting model. Hint: It’s just squares and halves of squares.

And this? Those who have the patience can emulateAndrew Lipsom, who built Escher’s Impossible staircase in his attic. That really blows my mind.

I so want those lizard pavers! And if I weren’t already disgustingly happily married, I might hunt down Andrew and marry him for making that awesome Lego Escher staircase!
Have I ever mentioned that one of my two favorite things about the film Labrynth is that Escher set in the Goblin castle? Because it so is.

Hey Twistie! Wanna go halveses on the lizards? $80.00 and suppose to last 10 years. You use for 3 months then I get them and then…you get the drift. And if we play it right, we could rent them to our acquaintances and end up paying nothing! I lurve them muches! Want a lizzy patio!
