Furniture For the Home Office…By Which I Mean My Home Office

By Christa Terry

Yesterday’s post about pretty, dainty, and feminine home offices made me feel a little covetous. Whereas I ought to be thinking about baby furniture, I’m window shopping for stuff for my office. Hey, I spend a lot of time in here — more so now that I’m working on a project that takes up a LOT of my time. I’d say I’m staring at these four walls all day, but I’m really just staring at one as my desk is up against a wall. Though much of my office is behind my back, I cannot deny that there’s room for improvement. So let’s go shopping, yes?

Provence Console Desk

Here we have a Provence console desk that really is totally not practical for someone who actually keeps stuff handy on his or her desks. At least it has a drawer!

Leopard Chair

Then there’s the totally incongruous leopard chair, which would match nothing and look awesome just the same. Hmmm, how else can I get more ‘bordello’ into my home?

Weekly Organizer Wall Shelf

Not with this weekly organizer shelf, that’s for sure. Oh well. I’m a hanger and a note-jotter, so this represents the best of both worlds for yours truly.

Morocco Palm Cabinet

If my goal is to have a home office that looks like something out of a magazine, I need to be able to store all the detritus of actual work (you know, a laptop, paper, a pen, etc.) somewhere. I like this Morocco palm cabinet.

Total price for new furniture? $580 (+shipping), or the price of a single crib. Huh.

  1. La BellaDonna Says:

I feel your pain. I need both buckets of money, and lots and lots of rooms to decorate. I need the Leopard/Wrought Iron/Black Velvet Sector, and the Madame Pompadour Gilt-Edged Floral, Ivory, Cream, And White Sector, the Renaissance Sector, the Gothic Black Lace, Gauze And Glitter Sector, the Moroccan/Taj Mahal Sector …. *sigh* or the poverty-stricken, cardboard and cathair sector which is my reality …
