I Want My Eames

By Christa Terry

I don’t care how comfortable glider rockers are. Really, I don’t. They look absolutely dorky and bulky. Glider rockers look like they belong in my paternal grandmother’s house… in fact, I’m pretty sure there’s one in there somewhere. So what if they’re de rigueur for nurseries? As we slowly figure out what sort of furniture we’ll be needing to welcome our new baby, all I want is an Eames rocker.

Eames rocker

Or a reproduction of an Eames rocker. That’ll do just as well, thank you very much.

I just got one of those, but it wasn’t as expensive as a pair of Manolos. I got it at the Officedesigns.com yearly sale. I think they’re having it around now, actually because I bought it around Christmas. There’s a promo code out there somewhere.

Right you are, james w. They’re still selling it here though it doesn’t appear to be on sale at the moment.

Keep in mind that you will need a place to put your feet up, and that is the good part of the glider chairs. And to be honest, the gliding chairs are much easier when feeding than rockers. Rockers take more energy, and it seems silly, but sometimes you just have no energy, and when mine was littlle, he was all about the rocking when being fed. It could get exhuasting. Just my two cents!

    Logic? Who needs logic?

(I know, of course, that you’re entirely right.)
