Win a Free Jute Rug from CSN Rugs!
By Christa TerryTired of walking on your bare floors? Me, too, but rugs tend to cost a bit more than I’m willing to pay for them now that I have a kid to think about. I’m fortunate enough now to live in a house with nice hardwood floors, but I’ve also been unlucky enough to live in apartments with splintering wood flooring and vinyl peeling at the edges so I know how vital something like good rugs can be to a person’s foot health and sanity.
I’m happy to announce that I can help at least one of you out, thanks to CSN Rugs. They’ve graciously offered to give away a classic 3’x5′ hand woven jute rug with a soft blue border to one lucky reader of this very blog.

All you have to do to enter to win is leave a comment on this post telling me what kind of stuff you’d like to see on Manolo for the Home in the future, e.g. product reviews, photos of designers’ homes, home care tips, etc. On this coming Friday morning at 9 a.m. EST, I’ll use a random number generator to choose the winner.
Good luck!

I love your “favorite things” posts, just random things that have been speaking to you or particularly catching your eye. I’d love to see some more inspiration posts, too- theme rooms, color pallettes, that sort of thing. Thanks for the giveaway! I just moved into an apartment with all tile floor, which is great, but a couple throw rugs would be wonderful.

How about more yard furniture? I’m thinking about fountains and benches, Adirondack chairs, whimsies and sculpture. And stuff to take to the beach: beach chairs and blankets, portable wind shelters, grills, and picnic baskets.

I’d love to see more cleaning tips, like you mentioned. The more organic the better! I agree with Elaine, colorful rooms would also be great inspiration, or perhaps posts with a color theme?

More small space / studio tips. But also, more on color color color! (And I loved the tetris furniture.)

More articles on how to use common household items for other things?

more easy decorating techniques/cheap chic/diy stuff for interiors

My fave posts are the fun, inspirational products that I wouldn’t find on my own. They’re even better when they’re in my price range! I also like DIY decorating ideas, even if I know I probably won’t ever do them.

Recent posts tend to a more modern style. I’d like to see some more classic options.
And I agree with EMS, small spaces.
I recently bought a couch for my townhouse, but it took 3 months to find something smaller than 72″ inches that wasn’t ‘modern for an urban apartment’. And I had to special order it. Thank goodness for the clearance sale.

I will second (third?) the request for posts about making the most out of small spaces.

smart storage tips for small apartments – mine is 1000 sq ft, but we have NO CLOSETS! and making spaces multi-task…

I like to see original, clever ideas mixed with the occasional fantasy house, new products, design advances etc. There are many folksy, traditional blogs and many cutting edge design blogs. Anything connected to the Manolo must be a witty combination of style and comfort, achievable yet always aspirational.

I’d like to see garden support systems…things to grow peas on, how to support tomatoes, raised beds, trellis structures, sheds, cold frames that are functional and attractive.

I think I’d like to see more product reviews — what I’d really like to see is that cute rug in my living room! My current rug is horrible.

I really like the articles on how to make the most of small spaces, and DIY projects/budget decorating. I agree with maggie hall that it’s fun to see the fantasy houses interspersed as well.

A thing that really makes me happy is when you provide a selection of clever design stuff.

I love all that you do for us Christa! Just keep it up! I do have to admit I love the articles on quirky architecture.

I love the quirky, unique items you find and share. More art – more funkiness – more “repurposing” of stuff.

i love seeing anything design related, especially if pictures are involved! More photos of designers’ homes is always nice as well, I love getting inspiration from beautiful, uniquely designed interiors. I love to see anything new that’s fun and quirky (yes, I even enjoy kitsch)!

I would love to see more projects, do-it-yourself, or adaptable ideas on the blog. I also really like the odd or unusual items you’re able to find.

Would be great to see posts on greening spaces – from small apartments to houses – in fun, stylish, and funky ways – such as art options made out of recycled materials to the ASLA’s Green Roof. 🙂

I love to decorate, so decorating techniques and projects would be great to look through. 🙂

I’d love to see DIY decorating stuff. Anything that someone can do to brighten their small house without spending a lot of money!
