Love the craft room ideas! Mine functions as office, craft room, and general administrative area. Would love to have a completely separate space for crafts.

That's pretty much how I feel about it... and judging by how old my machine is, I kind of want it to keep on keeping on just so it outlives all the flashier and younger models.

I love that glitter phone. It is just too much fun!!!

And yeah, my laundry room is just a stone's throw from our wood furnace, and the walls aren't finished, so it's a pretty dusty spot.

I'd love to get a lighter, better sewing machine someday, but that old Singer is built like a tank, and it still works perfectly. And my frugal self can't justify spending money on a new sewing machine when the one I have works perfectly well (even if it weighs as much as your average 10-year old child.)

Ooh, that I couldn't handle, if only because my laundry area is in the unfinished bit of the basement by the furnace and the catboxes. But I, too, have a rather old sewing machine that weighs quite a bit. I used to lug it to the sewing center, where all the other ladies had these streamlined machines with handles built right in.

(Wrt to that photo you liked, how about that glitter phone?!)

A craft room? Heck, I'd be happy with anything but what I've got now. Right now, I've got my sewing stuff jammed into a tiny, dark, dusty corner in my laundry room in the basement. If I have any large sewing projects, I have to haul my 1963 Singer (and that bugger is HEAVY) up the stairs and onto the dining room table. Someday, when we finish the basement and make a rec room, I'd love to have one end of it be just for my sewing, with a nice long table, shelves for my supplies, racks for various works-in-progress, etc. That second photo with the lovely little aqua craft corner looks just lovely to me.
