NtB Wants to Know: Where Is YOUR Happy Place?

Where in your house or your apartment – even if it’s nothing more than a corner – do you go when you need to escape the yuck of the world?

  1. Carol Says:

My sewing room. Whether I’m working on a project, planning a new one or just straightening up the fabrics and patterns, I know it’s calm, it’s productive and when I come back in a day/week it’ll be just as I left it. That was very important to me when my kids were little and is still important as I get older and the world around me gets more chaotic.

  2. Jennie Says:

Sounds lame, but…our bedroom. Two or three summers ago my mom bought us a TempurPedic (!!!!!!!!) and a modern platform bed with attached side tables. It was the first piece of furniture that was OURS, not his or mine. And while the honey was gone for work, I painted the room a pinky cream, found cream linen curtains with chocolate bottoms at the Pottery Barn Outlet, and hung restful paintings. So it’s dark brown, a grey sky blue, and cream all over the place in there. Ahhhh.

My den. That’s where my books, music, ‘puter and NOOK are. The room is in muted blue-grey, w/a warm cream and touches of raspberry. Lots of windows w/ wispy cream sheers at the window in Spring/Summer. I relax on my chaise lounge with a cool bevvy after a long day. Yesh!
