ROUNDUP: Headboards

By Christa Terry

When you’re planning out or putting together your bedroom decor, it pays to give your bed’s headboard the consideration it’s due. An eye-catching headboard can serve as the focal point of your bedroom, reminding all who enter that sleeping (and perhaps naughty time) is the main event. The following four headboards were chosen by Domino for their ability to turn a humble bed into a luxurious nest. Hopefully, they’ll inspire you!

An Indian blanket becomes a headboard and bedskirt in this exotic bedroom.

A tranquil fabric headboard complements subdued bedcovers in this small space.

David Hicks headboard

Go tall if you want to, but remember that bigger headboards should pop like this one upholstered in David Hicks fabric.

A tufted upholstered panel attached to the wall stands in for a traditional headboard in this primarily black and white bedroom.

The pink (red?) one is my favorite. The Indian one is too busy and the tan one is kind of boring. Plus I think the pink one is something I could set up for myself with a little time and patience.

  2. Ploe Says:

These are nice, but I prefer the faux headboards linked in the other post because they allow you to keep your bed all the way nudged up agasint the wall. In a small apartment like mine, it really does make a difference.

  3. Kimberly Says:

Where can I find the pink headboard? Super cool!

  4. Christa Terry Says:

@Kimberly Give me a day or so and I’ll do my best to find out!

@Kimberly Hi again, best I can do is tell you it came from Domino, but I haven’t been able to find any other details. Sorry 🙁 BUT I can offer up an easy DIY tufted headboard tutorial: http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2010/01/diy-simple-tufted-headboard Doesn’t look too complicated!
